How Tubing Mascara Works & Is It Good For Sensitive Eyes?

One of my favorite makeup products is and always will be mascara! Because it’s so easy to feel and look put together with just mascara and a lip product. I am blessed with long, thick lashes which means mascara can get super messy depending on the formula (such as this one by Essence) and transfers like crazy! That is until recently when I discovered tubing mascara! Yes, tubing mascara has made a world of difference for my lashes!

What Is Tubing Mascara? And How Does It Work?

They’re a plethora of mascaras on the market with so many formulas. So what makes tubing mascara so great and sets them apart from others? It’s formulated with an ingredient called polymers that encapsulate your lashes forming a “tube” around each lash. Because your lashes are coated in a tube you can cry and it won’t smudge or smear. Love that for us!

If you’re unsure whether or not your mascara is tubing, look on the packaging and if you see this ingredient polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) (polymers) then you know it’s a tubing mascara! This one ingredient is what separates it from regular mascara and prevents it from any smudging or clumping. And bonus they’re easy to remove!

Removing it is very simple! I love using makeup erasers to remove my makeup, so I use a cleansing balm first, wet my makeup eraser with warm water and hold it on my lashes for a few seconds and gently wipe it away. If you don’t have a makeup eraser the same can still be achieved by taking a cotton round and using your favorite makeup remover or plain warm water hold for 30sec and gently wipe off your mascara. It’s that simple!

Caliray Come Hell or High Water

I love this mascara! Especially, for the lower lashes! It separates the lashes beautifully and adds length without over-dramatizing.

Tarte Tartelette

This is my go-to when I want extreme volume. It does an excellent job at curling, lengthening, and volumizing my lashes! They look so much fuller when I wear this.

Is Tubing Mascara Worth It? Is It Good For Sensitive & Dry Eyes?

As someone with sensitive and dry eyes tubing mascara has become a favorite. Especially, for days when I want my makeup to last all day and not have to worry about my mascara smudging. Because of its easy removal process, it’s less irritant to my eyes. And because of this, they’re much gentler on the lashes than your regular mascara, therefore, making it less damaging.

If you’ve been hesitant to try a tubing mascara I can’t recommend it enough! Especially, if you struggle with regular mascara and have sensitive and dry eyes. A tubing mascara might just be the one for you!
